Should the system fail to operate, unplug the unit. Using a 110-volt test light of multi-meter, check the receptacle where the power cord is plugged in. If you get no reading, check the breaker operating that circuit. It may be that you will have to choose another circuit to operate the Hott Rod or you can rearrange appliances to another circuit. Some simple steps for operational problems after installation:

Simple Troubleshooting
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Does Not Work Power Source Check all components are connected and corrected power supply 110VAC. Use multi-meter, check breakers.
  Thermostat Check thermostat to see if wires are properly connected
  Probe Check probe to see if plug is attached, disconnect Power and check multi-meter for short, and/or Remove probe from drain and check for visual damage.
Water is WARM Thermostat Re-set thermostat higher to desired water temp.
Water is too HOT Thermostat Check thermostat to ensure it is mounted directly against tank. The thermostat must contact the tank surface.
  Thermostat Re-set thermostat lower to desired water temp.
ECO trips Thermostat Re-set RED ECO button manually. If it trips again, Quickly AND IMMEDIATELY disconnect power and check All components with a multi-meter and a visual inspection, contact PAF MFG or your local RV service center.

 

An authorized RV Service Center should handle any additional troubleshooting.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

Your new Hott Rod is warranted by PAK MFG, "to you the original purchaser, for as long as you own the RV in which the Hott Rod was installed." Warranty Procedures: If any part of your HOTT ROD is found to be defective, please do the following:

1. Send only the part, which is defective, i.e. (cord, probe, thermostat, etc.,) COMPLETE KITS WILL NOT BE SENT AS A REPLACEMENT.

2. A Warranty Card must be submitted and on file with PAK MFG to obtain warranty. If you do not have a Warranty Card on file, you must include a PROOF OF PURCHASE - NO EXCEPTION. The warranty is valid for the original purchaser and NOT transferable.

3. Include a check or money order in the amount of $9.00 (US Dollars) for warranty processing and shipping charges. Prompt disposition: DDOEM will make a good faith effort for prompt correction to any Hott Rod which proves to be defective within warranty limitations. Please DO NOT return defective parts to your place of purchase they will just refer you to PAK for your warranty claim.
